Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The Murry Foundation is a registered, not for profit charity helping both individuals and industry to make changes for a brighter future... DOING NOTHING IS NOT AN OPTION

What kind of organisation are you?
The Murry Foundation is a not for profit charity based in the UK – set up in 2006 to help tackle the issues of conservation, humanity & climate change.

Why is The Murry Foundation a charity and not a business?
We do not believe in making a profit to help alleviate animal and human suffering or helping to conserve our environment for future generations. Making a profit is totally against our remit.

The Murry Foundation is a new forward looking company helping both individuals and industry to make changes for a brighter future... DOING NOTHING IS NOT AN OPTION

Do trees produce carbon dioxide as well as using it for growth?
Yes this is true but some of the carbon absorbed will be stored in the biomass of the tree which means over-all trees will use more carbon dioxide than they produce – around 272kg in the first 20 years depending on a few variables.

What effect do trees currently have on carbon dioxide and global warming?
Trees currently absorb around a 25% of all human emissions, The Murry Foundation intend to make this figure grow.

What other positive benefits do trees give us?
They produce oxygen, support lots of plant and animal life, purify our air from contaminants, and give us paper, furniture and lots of other products.

Why do you get more trees for your money if you plant in the san wilde wildlife reserve?
Simply because the cost of land is the single largest cost factor, we need to buy the land for good in order to guarantee a stable future for your tree. UK land is expensive whereas wildlife reserve land is relatively much cheaper.

How do you protect our trees?
We only plant on our land for a start, we employ a long term management plan and protect your tree using standard practices during its first years of growth.

Why do certain groups contest the planting of trees in order to reduce greenhouse gasses?
When a tree grows it fixes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere – fact. The problem can occur if the tree dies, rots, is burnt, a percentage of the carbon will be released back into the atmosphere. So we at The Murry Foundation manage our woods to help prevent this from happening doing this provides the world time in order to finalise research on clean carbon dioxide free energies such as fusion.

What happens when I ask The Murry Foundation to plant a tree on my behalf?
You will receive a confirmation e-mail and once your tree is planted you will receive a certificate, photo, map and diagram clearly labeled where your tree is planted planted.

Is the planning of new trees the complete answer to co2 production and global warming?
No – Our current energy production technologies will need to change along with changing our lifestyle and the way we produce and use our products, but planting new trees will certainly help.

When will my tree be planted?
This depends entirely on where it is planted and what type of tree we are planting for you, if you are planting a deciduous tree then it can only be planted between October and march – but we will start rearing your tree from receipt of your order. Once your tree is planted we will send you a picture, certificate with date of plantation a map and corresponding diagram with your tree clearly labeled.
